Grantsville Wrestling Club / Junior Cowboys Wrestling
Hello Wrestlers,
We are excited to kick off our 2024-2025 season. We had a lot of fun and success last year, and we are excited to keep building the program. This year we will separate into three groups depending on numbers beginner and advanced elementary and Advanced/Junior High wrestlers. Here is the information for all three groups.
Beginner
Who: Wrestlers that are new to the sport or do not plan on wrestling at the weekend tournaments or super state.
Ages: Pre-K – 6th Grade
Dates: Practice will begin on November 12th. This group will practice Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:10 PM – 7:00 PM. This team will practice from November 12th – January 9th. Dates may be subject to change depending on the High School wrestling Schedule.
Cost: $ 100 per wrestler and includes a T-Shirt. Each wrestler will be required to purchase a USA-limited Folkstyle Athlete Membership. This cost is $20.00 and provides secondary sports accident insurance for your wrestler. This card can be bought at www.usawmembership.com
The goal for this Team: The team will be taught the basics of wrestling. This will include basic move sets and match mechanics. Practice will be geared towards developing interest and love of the sport.
Advance/Elementary
Who: Wrestlers in elementary who have wrestled before and are looking to compete at weekend tournaments and super state or by coach invite to this group. Please contact a coach if you are unsure if your wrestler should be in this group.
Dates: Practice will begin on November 5. This group will practice on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM in the high school wrestling room. Dates may be subject to change depending on the High School wrestling Schedule. This team will practice from November 6th to February 9th-10th (Super State).

Advance/Junior High
Who: Wrestlers in Junior High or have wrestled before and are looking to compete at weekend tournaments and super state or by coach invite to this group. Please contact a coach if you are unsure if your wrestler should be in this group.
Dates: Practice will begin on November 04th. This group will practice on Mondays 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM and Tuesdays and Wednesdays 7:30 -9:00PM. Dates may be subject to change depending on the High School wrestling Schedule. This team will practice from November 6th to February 9th-10th (Super State). Depending on the number of both advanced groups, we may combine groups if needed.

The Goal for this Team: We will start preparing the wrestler to transition to more competitive wrestling and high school wrestling. This team’s practices will be run more as a club sport, and advanced techniques will be taught. These practices will be harder than those of the beginner group and will be more focused. The goal of this group is to get the wrestlers to compete in tournaments regularly throughout the season to prepare for Norther State and Super State.
